Why Does Excel Autocomplete Suck and What Can We Do About It?

If there's only one entry in the column that starts with "The Mal" and you now start typing into an empty cell in the same column, when you've done "the mal" you get autocomplete. Say the existing entry is "The Malaria Foundation", it'll put that in. Nice.

But.

If you already have both "The Malaria Foundation" and "The Malaria Initiative" and now start typing, wouldn't you expect "The Malaria " to be autocompleted by the time you get to "the mal"?

What can we do to make this happen?
