Dell's Commitment to Delivering Disappointment

OMG... First time in my life, ever, buying a brand new computer - I've bought refurbs off Dell and TigerDirect. You'd think I'd be dazzled. Nope - with a Dell G5 5550 with 16 GB RAM and 500 GB SSD, I'm still having to contend with the mouse freezing on my all the time and VirtuaWin being unable to assign my favourite hotkeys.

I've run into the problem of the Intel Graphics Options stealing the CTRL-ALT-Arrow keys, but you'd see that thing with a right-click on the desktop. Here, all you see is Nvidia. Anyhow, with luck, I get to Intel, and... the Hot Keys are disabled - yes - and poor VirtuaWin still has to report "Failed to register hotkey 1. Check hotkeys"...

Fix : enable the Intel Hot Keys and now try the "Apply" in VirtuaWin setup - it should legitimately fail. Now, go back to Intel and disable and now, try with VirtuaWin again - I lucked out. Phew...

Let's see if I can luck out on the mouse UX.. I lucked out with the old Dell Precision I resurrected after two years a couple days ago. Very sluggish (it's at least 5 years old). But, with the forced Window Update to install 2020 (build 2004) it's actually chugging along nicely! Maybe the G5 will undergo some self-healing after all :) Since Tesla's moving into Austin big time, maybe something will rub off.. Hope..
